Watch the MSL Cup final for free on Apple TV this Saturday

The culmination of the MSL season is this Saturday as LA Galaxy takes on the New York Red Bulls for the 2024 cup, and the match plus all coverage will be free on Apple TV.

Streaming the final match free across Apple TV hardware, smart TVs, games consoles and more, comes after Apple did the same for Lionel Messi's debut at the start of the season. That debut reportedly doubled subscriptions to Apple's MLS Season Pass, and Apple surely expects another boost from the end of the season.

As ever, MLS Season Pass costs less and less as the season goes on, and now people have been able to subscribe to get the last few matches free. Users don't have to subscribe for Saturday's MLS Cup match, though, and Apple is screening it even further and wider than usual.

Apple wants faster RAM in the iPhone to help speed up Apple Intelligence

Apple is working with Samsung to change how RAM is packaged for the iPhone, with the aim of widening the bandwidth to help in AI tasks.

Apple Intelligence on an iPhone will benefit from faster memory

While most smartphones have their RAM on the same package as the processor, Apple is looking to go against the norm. In order to allow for more RAM and also speed up memory access for Apple Intelligence tasks, it now wants to put the RAM and processor on separate chips.

According to The Elec, Apple has asked Samsung to begin researching how best to package the DRAM memory used in iPhones. The issue is that being on the same package as the processor is only quicker up to a point.

Apple could finally be ready to reveal iPhone SE 4 in early 2025, and it may be the lowest-priced iPhone with access to Apple Intelligence. Here's what's rumored to be arriving soon.

iPhone SE was last updated in 2022 with the third-generation model. It is the last iPhone with a Home Button, Touch ID, Lightning, and an LCD display.

That all is expected to change with the iPhone SE 4, which is rumored to be modeled after the iPhone 14. While it will resemble that iPhone on its face, there will be a lot of modern alterations that'll make the iPhone SE 4 stand on its own.

Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) allows a network device to request an IP address from a DHCP server on a network. DHCP makes starting and configuring computers easier since it's usually automatic and doesn't require any user intervention.

There are separate versions of the DHCP protocol for IP4 and IP6 (DHCPv6).

Apple Savings APY hits new low of 3.90% after Federal Reserve rate cut

The Apple Savings APY falls again after another Federal Reserve rate cut in November, reaching a new all-time low of 3.90% APY.

Apple Savings APY drops to 3.90%

Apple launched a high-yield savings account attached to the Apple Card in April 2023 at 4.15% APY. It climbed up to 4.5% by January 2024 and saw its first rate cut in April to 4.4%, then a second cut to 4.25% in September, and another to 4.10% in October.

Apple has begun notifying Apple Savings users of another APY dip on Wednesday night. The 4.10% rate was already an all-time low for the high-yield savings account, but it has reached a new low of 3.90%.

Former Apple employees allegedly stole $152k through donation matching scam

An alleged donation theft scheme involving six former Apple employees, tax fraud, and an inside man funneling money away from charities robbed Apple of about $152k over three years.

Like many big companies, Apple matches donations made by employees to various organizations. Somehow, a group of employees (now former) allegedly figured out a loophole that would let them keep their money, take the matched donation, and make a claim on their taxes.

According to a report from CBS based on a release from The County of Santa Clara, the six people defrauded the State of California and Apple's Matching Gifts Program. The report states that ringleader Siu Kei Kwan directed five employees to make donations to two organizations he had access to.
